And at the time I purchased it, this Clic-Loc version was actually selling for less than the version without.I've had a lot of concrete, CMU (cinder blocks), stucco and tile to work with on our big foundation project. The concrete walls are all hard, high-PSI 8-12 inches thick. My pistol-grip Makita hammer drill will cut into them, but with the Bosch + non-slipping SDS bits, it's fast and smooth like a hot knife through butter. Compared to this, the Makita feels like it's pretending to hammer. For chipping, I love that the bit can be rotated into any position (well... virtually "any" position -- there's a detent every 10 degrees) and "locked" from rotating once it's in use. Compared to my oversized, el-cheapo Harbor Freight / Chicago Electric demo hammer that gives me one position only, this feature is greatly appreciated. Conversely, my air chipper allows rotation into any position, but doesn't have the ability to lock the bit, so it constantly drifts if I don't concentrate on orienting it correctly.Everything here is top notch and suited for all sorts of drilling and chipping tasks, without being overbuilt. The motor doesn't bog down, it's comfortable to grip for a long time, the handle doesn't slip, and the Clic-Lock makes switching between SDS and standard bits a snap. And while it's certainly heavier than any other drill I own, it's not uncomfortably heavy, especially since 2-handed use is pretty much a prerequisite. Cutting 3 and 4-inch holes through 1¼-inch 3-coat stucco with wire is clean and fast using Bosch's hole saw system plus their Power Change SDS-Plus Hole Saw Mandrel along with a Lenox Carbide Grit Hole Saw. The Bosch gives me a lot more control than the pistol grip drills I had been using, plus allows me to more accurately line up the cut to ensure it's going in straight (I think due primarily to the length of the tool compared to a pistol grip -- it's easier to notice if I'm beginning to angle it off to the side).I'm really pleased to have this. My fear is that, once I finish the majority of my reconstruction, I won't have much use for this tool on any sort of regular basis. The Clic-Loc certainly will make it more versatile than an SDS-only tool, so regardless, I'm planning on keeping it in my shop for those rare occasions where I need something with a bit of punch.See all 1 customer reviews...Bosch 11224VSRC 7/8-inch SDS-plus Bulldog Rotary Hammer with Clic Loc
