They have been both high dollar - name brands - no name's ,yellow brand & the greenish blue brand , red ones black & silver ones, orange ones big store brands and some named after cities. I currently own at least a dozen both corded and cordless quarter inch threw half inch but the first one I reach for is this drill (my drill is 1014VSR 6.5 AMP the little brother). When I finally decided on this drill I bought one for use and a backup for the day my number one drill needs a rest. This is a solid built quality tool and has not shown any wear over the 2 - 3 years I have owned it. It has a comfortable rubberized grip that has that just fits right feel to it. The reverse / forward switch operates smoothly as does the variable speed trigger. It also has a removable handle. The key-less chuck on this drill is another precision item , it does not slip like some of lessor build. Even the cord has held up , I make a point of unplugging and putting it away after use.
